Rates & Common Questions
How Much Do You Charge?
My rates are $80 an hour. Feel free to ask for a rough price estimate on your design idea!
There is a $40 spot holding deposit that will be requested through your appointment confirmation form. This will be subtracted from your final tattoo price!
What The Hell Is Handpoke?
The process is similar to using a tattoo machine (gun), but the needle is hand powered rather than electric. It's done with just a needle, tattoo ink, and the artist's hand. Many styles can be achieved with handpoke, but it is commonly used for line work, stipple shading and the use of mainly black ink. This type of tattoo is done very slowly, and comes together with one single dot at a time. This gives the tattoo a very hand drawn, organic look. This method is permanent and typically doesn't fade any faster than a tattoo from a machine when done correctly.
Does Handpoke Hurt More Than A Tattoo From A Machine?
In general handpoke doesn't hurt quite as much, as it is less invasive. This means the skin heals quicker as well. But there are so many factors, and everyone is different. Location, pain tolerance, and the design all play a part.
But it is totally normal to be worried about the pain! Topical numbing creams for tattooing are easy to find online, and you can let them soak into your skin for the hour leading up to your appointment. (Hush tattoo numbing cream is a great vegan friendly option) You can also message me to come purchase a small teaspoon of numbing gel at the studio!
Does A Handpoked Tattoo Take Longer To Complete?
Yes! Much longer. Keep in mind a tattoo machine punctures the skin around 50 times per second. My hand punctures the skin 1-3 times per second. So be prepared for your piece to take longer than expected.
Do You Tattoo Custom Pieces?
Yes! Though I only take on a few custom projects a month, and only if they are something that I think would match my style.
How Big Of A Piece Can You Do?
I have a wide range! I love doing tiny pieces, large pieces, and even sleeves. I do a max of 3-4 hours per session. We can book several sessions to get larger work finished.
Is There Anywhere You Won't Tattoo?
I currently don't tattoo fingers, hands, feet, behind ears, ribs, directly on knees/elbows, or faces. Why? To put it simply, I just don’t enjoy tattooing these areas, and because I’m allowed to do what I want :)
Do You Do Cover Ups?
On very rare occasions I will cover an old, faded stick and poke. But it’s better to assume that I will probably recommend you go see a cover up artist.
Do You Use Color?
I mostly stick to black ink, but I do offer a few darker colors, such as green, blue, purple, red and orange. I use color for very simple fill in and line work.
Will You Tattoo My Friends Drawing?
I prefer to tattoo my work only, but if you have something you would like me to use for inspiration, that is just fine.
I will also only tattoo my designs once to keep all my pieces one of a kind! Unless you are choosing to get matching tattoos with a pal of course:)
Can I Take Your Designs To Another Tattoo Artist?
Please do not take my work to another artist without asking. I know I can't fully stop you, but doing that would be a huge bummer. Support your local artists and their work!
What If My Idea Doesn't Really Match Your Style?
Please familiarize yourself with my style. If I feel your idea doesn’t quite fit, I will recommend you reaching out to a different artist that would be a better match! Delicate line work, stipple shading and black fill are what I do best
Do You Take Payments Or IOUs ?
I believe that tattooing is very therapeutic and a great form of self care, and self expression that should be accessible to everyone! I am more than happy to create a design that sticks within your budget range, and at a price that will be fair to both of us. But I currently don’t offer any type of payment plans.
Are You Ever Interested In Doing Trade Work?
Yes! I only do a few here and there with local artists, and services that I’m interested in, and as long as it is a fair trade for both of us. But feel free to reach out!
How Do I Pay You?
I only take cash, venmo and cashapp.
Do You Do Touch Ups?
Yes! I do free touch ups on all of my own work. Email me with your healed piece and we can schedule a free touch up session.Flash sheets are posted to my story 2-3 times a month. Dates and times are random.
Designs are first come, first served & not repeated.
To claim an available design, please fill out the form in my bio.
